From Roques d'en Cases to Roques Planes

:
Maximum duration:

It is a very complete itinerary through the mountains and the sea that will drives us from Roques d’en Cases near Romanyà to Roques Planes, an exceptional cove near Torre Valentina.
First of all, we’ll climb to Romanyà and we’ll go around it until Roques d’en Cases, a couple of rocky places that we’ll find near Font Josepa. We’ll see a great panoramic view over the southern slope of Puig d’Arques and Vall de Calonge.
Secondly, we’ll take the path that goes from Font de la Castanyeda to the can Riera ruined mas in order to go down to Calonge. At the mas, we’ll take the signposted path towards vall de Molins that runs parallel to the stream. From Calonge, we’ll cycle to Sant Antoni and then we’ll follow the coastal path to Torre Valentina. We’ll find the Roques Planes cove not far away. They are eroded rocks, some of them completely flat. These huge slabs stand above the water. From far away, they look like enormous backs of animals, which were prior to the Flood, floating in the water.
It’s a lovely spot, made out of stone, clear water and a little bit of sand.
We’ll come back to Sant Feliu through Platja d’Aro, Castell d’Aro and the greenway. We highly recommend these wonderful rocky places: Roques d’en Cases that stand above les Gavarres thick woods and excellent Roques Planes that are immersed in the water.
We believe that linking both places in just 40 kms is an appealing way to spend a morning cycling. We can also take a bath in the water in summertime. Bycicle lovers don’t have to miss it.
