Santa Llúcia d'Arboç and Vall de Sorinella

:
Maximum duration:

It is an interesting itinerary through les Gavarres in order to reach Santa Llúcia d’Arboç. It is a hermitage that dates from the 18th century and is located on Serra dels Perduts, halfway between Sant Pol neighbouhood and Ganga col.
We’ll cycle up to Puig d’Arques and then to Sant Cebrià dels Alls through Romanyà. We’ll pass by Sant Cebrià and 300m further, we’ll take the lovely path of the lead mine on the left. We’ll have to meet the GR that we’ll cycle down and then up at the other side of the road to can Mirameu mas. Santa Llúcia is very close to us on a nice hollow. The one-nave hermitage is isolated in the middle of the woods. The spot is arranged and has a picnic zone. The old sharecropper’s mas is usually open and it is used as a free shelter.
We’ll cycle back upwards to Cavorca mas in order to find an amazing path that goes down to Sorinella valley and meet can Diumenjó path, where we’ll find the first vineyards.
We’ll get to Calonge by Pere mas and we’ll put an end to the nearly 50km route by Sant Antoni and Platja d’Aro.
Santa Llúcia d’Arboç – before called Sant Nazari de la Ganga- is not a place as known or charismatic as others in les Gavarres (Fitor, els Metges, Montnegre...). However, it is an excellent cycling itinerary that combines different types of paths and offers us a beautiful landscape and large panoramic views over the northern slope of les Gavarres.
